Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to understand written and oral directions, interpret instructional documents such as recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules and apply knowledge
  • Ability to perform repetitious, physical tasks that require lifting items of moderate to heavyweight up to 70 pounds and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to operate commercial-grade ovens and bakery equipment
  • Meticulous attention to exact measurements and timing
  • Strong discipline and attention to detail to adhere to health and safety practices and work environment standards
  • Diligent, organized, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Previous experience in bakery, restaurant, or foodservice environment is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Follow NbC proprietary frosting recipe and application methods with precision and achieve productivity goals
  • Effectively utilize measuring instruments, commercial-grade or handheld mixer and pastry bag to frost cakes
  • Prioritize cake pre-orders according to schedule and frost cakes for walk-in guest orders accordingly
  • Ensure an adequate supply of samples and frosted cakes are available for guests in the bakery display case and maintain appropriate frosting and frosted cake par levels
  • Adhere to the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of frosted cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintain frosting and refrigeration logs
  • Monitor inventory of frosting supplies and notify management when replenishment is required
  • Evaluate baked and frosted cakes to ensure NbC standards are met and inform management of any quality control issues
  • Clean, sanitize and restock workstation, ensure frosting supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift, and wash any equipment in the absence of the Dishwasher/Utility Employee
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene
  • Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
  • Follow NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieve productivity goals
  • Effectively utilize measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes
  • Assist baker with accurately preparing raw ingredients and equipment for baking places cake pans into a hot oven and monitors the baking process
  • Assist baker with daily baking and production flow and processes
  • Adhere to the proper packaging, labeling and storage of baked cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintain baking and refrigeration logs
  • Clean, sanitize, and restock workstation and assist baker to ensure all baking supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene
  • Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
