Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • experience in 4 Diamond rated hotels preferred
  • must be able to walk, stand and run for long periods
  • excellent communication skills
  • must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • constant standing, walking and running during shifts
  • occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and running
  • occasional use of ladders, stairs and ramps
  • must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle
  • must provide a clean driving record
  • valid driver’s license required
  • evidence of clean driving record
  • TIPS certification
  • ability to communicate effectively in English, Spanish preferred
  • capacity to handle high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy when dealing with guests
  • willingness to perform other duties as requested by management

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in elevated guest service with 4 to 5 Diamond or 4 to 5 Star properties highly preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the valet cashier desk
  • ensure guests are courteously, cordially and efficiently handled
  • answer incoming phone calls and dispatch valet staff efficiently
  • assist guests with vehicle requests, parking charges and payments
  • occasionally park and retrieve guest vehicles safely and promptly
  • open doors and assist guests entering and leaving property
  • inform guests of property amenities, services, hours of operation and local activities
  • assist with luggage storage and retrieval
  • communicate parking procedures to guests
  • assist guests in and out of vehicles including loading and unloading luggage
  • charge guest accounts and process payments for valet and self-parking
  • handle valet keys and ticket system
  • maintain cleanliness of valet back office and cashier office
  • monitor GXP and guest messages for vehicle and luggage requests
  • monitor status of incoming flights for limousine pickups
  • communicate with valet and doorman about guest needs
  • monitor taxis and ride share status
  • ensure valet and bell booths are always attended
  • adhere to hotel safety standards
  • use respectful communication to assist guests and relay information to management
  • perform additional duties and projects as assigned
  • encourage positive guest arrival and departure experiences
  • issue and collect vehicle claim tickets
  • maintain property standards
  • provide exceptional customer service
  • communicate professionally with guests, clients and teammates
  • follow Westin guidelines and Marriott standards
  • anticipate guest needs
  • maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas
  • stay informed of group activities
  • provide information about hotel facilities and local functions
  • handle deliveries promptly and courteously
  • safely operate bell carts
  • assist with mail and package deliveries
  • greet and engage guests at key property points
  • read and comprehend departmental memos
  • report supplies needs and safety concerns to management
  • alert shifts of incomplete tasks or special situations
  • assist other departments and team members
  • perform all duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
