Job Requirements
- Completion of high school or possession of GED
- at least one year of full-time experience as a receptionist or in a customer service position with a community-based organization, or satisfactory completion of a medical receptionist or medical assistant training program
- ability to provide sensitive and respectful care to individuals from diverse backgrounds in line with CMC values
- ability to work with computers and data entry
- ability to type 35 wpm with typing certificate preferred
Job Qualifications

- proficiency in computer use and data entry, with preferred typing speed of 35 wpm
- knowledge of business office procedures
- skill in operating office equipment including computer, telephone, copier, and fax machine
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff
- ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- ability to learn and use clinical and web-based applications including text messaging platforms
- ability to maintain quality standards and respond calmly in emergency situations
- strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy, tact, and empathy in customer service
Job Duties
- Warmly welcome and greet patients, clients, and visitors in person, on the phone, or via text
- register patients in the Electronic Health Record system accurately and timely
- schedule appointments following CMC policies and guidelines
- verify insurance and program eligibility and update records accordingly
- conduct robust confirmation calls prior to appointments
- organize patient appointments based on arrival times and provider availability
- assist patients with patient portal registration and education
- maintain timely communication with the care team and patients regarding scheduling
- follow managed care procedures to obtain authorizations
- handle patient complaints professionally and route appropriately
- open and close clinic buildings as needed
- process outpatient payments and balance cash
- attend meetings and trainings for professional growth
- scan patient forms and maintain clinical communication
- perform other duties as assigned
