Job Requirements
- Able to work flexible shifts primarily PM shifts (3-11pm)
- Able to work night audit shifts as needed
- Basic mathematical skills
- Skill in the use of a calculator
- Ability to listen effectively and speak English clearly
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
- Ability to stand and walk continuously behind the front desk
- Hearing and visual ability to observe emergency situations
- Ability to push/pull cart/table weighing up to 150 lbs
- Ability to grasp, lift to waist, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to provide leadership and delegate where necessary
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- College degree preferred
- Minimum 2-year hotel/hospitality experience
- Minimum 2-year supervisor/manager role experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to prepare complex reports
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers effectively
Job Duties
- To monitor and improve the performance and consistency of the department
- To coordinate monitoring and discipline of all staff members including job skills training list/manual and program
- Establish goals with team members and monitor progress
- Assist, coach, and instruct regarding goals
- Ensure all team members are coached on empowerment to ensure guest satisfaction
- Design and implement sustainable procedures for Front Office e-Check-In registration and guest membership program recognition
- Ensure Front Desk staff interact with guests and provide warm welcomes
- Coordinate VIP, e-checkin, and special needs reservations ensuring consistency
- Monitor department checklists daily and ensure completion
- Follow up with staff on unfinished tasks
- Encourage improvement and empowerment among staff
- Monitor staff performance to meet hotel standards
- Provide positive reinforcement and discipline to team members
- Continuously monitor teams in soliciting guest comments and handle discipline
- Assess impact of business changes on department schedule and ensure immediate response
- Ensure an empowerment environment at the Front Office where team members take initiative
- Perform other duties as assigned
