Job Requirements

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience
  • two to three years of experience in a related hotel position
  • discipline-specific hospitality industry knowledge
  • supervisory experience in hotel departments
  • excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • ability to handle cash or credit transactions
  • knowledge of general office equipment and cash register operation
  • ability to stand and move throughout hotel function areas
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • ability to perform occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • two to three years of experience in a related hotel position
  • strong discipline-specific hospitality industry knowledge
  • general hotel department supervisory experience
  • excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • experience handling cash or credit transactions
  • knowledge of general office equipment and cash register operation
  • ability to manage a diverse team and empower employees

Job Duties

  • Work with the hotel General Manager to achieve and exceed guest satisfaction scores in all areas of the hotel
  • be responsible for satisfaction scores for front desk operations and address any deficiencies immediately
  • work with the corporate training department to develop action plans to achieve expected guest satisfaction scores
  • train guest service agents on proper front desk procedures
  • recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates for front desk positions
  • prepare weekly schedules for front office staff
  • address performance deficiencies of front office staff through coaching and disciplinary actions
  • complete performance evaluations for front office staff timely
  • oversee and manage the Front Office to ensure efficient operations and impeccable guest care
  • attend to guest and group special needs and solve problems confidently
  • keep track of daily revenue and expenses to minimize loss and maximize profit
  • manage the Front Office staff by creating a motivating environment and providing coaching
  • ensure guest service agents comply with uniform and grooming standards
  • produce timely and quality reports for corporate review
  • monitor and manage room rates accurately
  • manage inventory within the property management system
  • frequently meet with and review work from the night auditor
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • uphold high personal grooming and dress standards
  • perform other duties as requested by supervisor
  • act as Manager on Duty when required
