Job Duties

  • Directly supervise all front office personnel and ensure proper completion of all front office duties
  • direct and coordinate the activities of the front desk, reservations, guest services, and telephone areas
  • ensure the proper appearance of the lobby and all public areas, including the complimentary breakfast area
  • act as the Manager on Duty when scheduled
  • send daily activity and accomplishment emails to General Manager and VP Operations
  • train front desk personnel on the property management system
  • enforce policies and procedures with front office and breakfast area staff
  • maintain proper staffing and prepare work schedules for front office and breakfast area staff
  • conduct regular performance reviews
  • monitor front office communications logs
  • ensure compliance with company uniform policy
  • conduct weekly departmental and individual meetings
  • supervise delegated responsibilities
  • maintain equipment and supplies
  • inform General Manager of unique operational issues
  • handle guest complaints
  • work flexible shifts including audit and fill ins
  • understand and code invoices for front office and breakfast area
  • process reservations and cancellations
  • have complete knowledge of room types and rate plans
  • understand franchise policies on reservations
  • promote goodwill by being courteous and friendly to guests and associates
