Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • at least 2 years of related management experience
  • or a 2-year college degree with 4 or more years of related experience
  • previous management experience
  • proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office
  • ability to work long hours
  • capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents promptly and efficiently
  • motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Room Division personnel
  • prepare and conduct front-of-house Room Division interviews and support recruiting efforts
  • develop employee morale and ensure training of personnel
  • maintain professional relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees and other departments
  • monitor oversold dates and maximize rooms revenue
  • tour rooms operating departments daily to gather feedback
  • analyze rate variance and monitor credit reports and daily house counts
  • support the corporate Guest Recognition Program
  • monitor expenses for cost control and revenue maximization
  • ensure compliance with operating procedures and loss prevention standards
  • conduct walk-throughs of public areas and guestrooms for cleanliness and maintenance
  • monitor labor expenses and ensure budgeted productivity
  • participate in management-on-duty programs
  • operate front office computer system including software maintenance and report generation
  • operate phones and radios professionally
  • ensure staff are knowledgeable about marketing programs
  • monitor all VIPs and special guest requests
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
