Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five or more years related Front Office experience
  • One year as Supervisor or Assistant Manager
  • Ability to lead and mentor team
  • General accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Mathematical problem-solving ability
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong problem-solving and calm demeanor
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Completion of training
  • Willingness to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Professional appearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management desired
  • Five or more years of related Front Office experience
  • One year experience as Supervisor or Assistant Manager in similar setting
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team to exceed guest expectations
  • General knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping transactions
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to use mathematics to solve problems
  • Proficiency with computers and accounting software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm during busy or emergency situations
  • Proficient in English reading, writing and communication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Completion of required training
  • Ability to work varying schedules including holidays, weekends and alternate shifts
  • Maintains a clean appearance and professional demeanor

Job Duties

  • Manages all Front Office operations including guest service and registration, room inventory and availability, PBX/communications and bell operations
  • Plans department goals and directs team members to achieve results
  • Participates in hiring process, interviews candidates and selects suitable staff
  • Provides training to staff and ensures attendance at mandatory meetings
  • Monitors and develops team member performance through supervision, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, recognition and reward
  • Monitors guest service trends, evaluates issues and implements improvements
  • Initiates and applies up-selling techniques to maximize room occupancy and revenue
  • Ensures staff knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities and policies
  • Resolves customer complaints and anticipates potential issues to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Follows safety policies, reports safety issues and complies with OSHA and HAZMAT programs
  • Makes merit decisions within budget guidelines
  • Approves leave and monitors timecards
  • Responds to emergency calls and ensures operational support
  • Maintains Front Office systems and equipment
  • Analyzes reports on customer satisfaction, occupancy, and revenue
  • Notifies management of unsafe conditions and needed maintenance
  • Attends all required meetings
  • Performs other related duties as needed
