Job Requirements

  • a four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience
  • two to three years experience in a related hotel company position
  • demonstrated hospitality industry knowledge
  • supervisory experience in hotel departments
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • ability to handle cash or credit transactions
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • familiarity with general office equipment and cash register operation

Job Duties

  • work with the hotel general manager to achieve and exceed guest satisfaction scores in all areas of the hotel
  • be responsible for satisfaction scores for the front desk operations and address any deficiencies immediately
  • work with the corporate training department to develop action plans to achieve expected guest satisfaction scores
  • effectively train guest service agents on proper front desk procedures
  • recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates for front desk positions in conjunction with the general manager
  • prepare weekly schedules for front office staff
  • address performance deficiencies through coaching and disciplinary actions
  • complete performance evaluations for front office staff timely
  • oversee and manage the front office to ensure efficient operations and impeccable guest care
  • attend to guest and group special needs and solve problems with confident graciousness
  • manage daily revenue and expenses to minimize loss and maximize profit
  • create an environment where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance
  • ensure guest service agents comply with clean, neat uniforms and name badges
  • prepare required reports timely and with quality
  • monitor rates daily and manage inventory in the property management system
  • frequently meet and review work generated by the night auditor
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • perform other duties as requested
  • act as manager on duty when required
