Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience as a front desk manager or similar role
- Experience with Marriott Full-Service PMS systems preferred
- Ability to stand for most of your shift
- Capability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, or lifting up to 25lbs throughout scheduled shifts
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Problem-solving proficiency to handle guest complaints and operational challenges
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience as a front desk manager or similar
- Experience with Marriott Full-Service PMS systems preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates degree in related or business administration preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Adept at identifying issues and implementing solutions promptly
Job Duties
- Interview, select, supervise, train and evaluate job performance of front desk agents and night auditors
- Work desk shifts when business levels require and cover shifts when a desk agent or night auditor has a schedule conflict or cannot work their shift as scheduled
- Achieve a high-level score from guest comments and QA reports
- Maintain room inventory by keeping abreast of all revenue lost through out of order rooms and other maintenance problems and resolve such problems timely with Maintenance and Housekeeping
- Approve all weekly time sheets, payroll, purchase orders and invoices, and update time and attendance point sheets as needed
- Communicate with the General Manager daily regarding operational developments of concern
- Prepare weekly schedule for front desk agents and night audit staying within company established budget
- Coordinate the training of new employees and the ongoing training of front desk staff while collaborating with HR-related training
- Ensure that all Front Desk Procedures are completed daily including checklists, call backs, Marriott digital office, rate variance, etc.
- Monitor cash flow and credit operations of the desk maintaining accuracy in account handling and reconciling any discrepancies, maintain key control
- Find and implement professional resolutions to problems and complaints as they occur
- Interface with the sales office to coordinate group room details
- Work with the Group Sales Manager on packages and prepare coupon and package amenities
- Participate in weekly property meetings such as Stand-Up, Manager’s Meeting, and BEO/Resume Meeting and other employee functions as required
- Act as Manager on Duty as required, overseeing operations, delegating tasks and collaborating with other managers and departments
