Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience managing a front office team under Collective Bargaining agreement
  • Ability to multitask and work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
  • Experience with Property Management System preferred
  • Physical ability to move objects up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Manual ability to operate necessary equipment
  • Ability to spend extended time viewing computer screens
  • Willingness to cover front desk shifts including night audit
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships

Job Qualifications

  • Experience managing a front office team and applying rules under the Collective Bargaining agreement, preferably in an upscale boutique hotel
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, hospitality degree preferred
  • Ability to work independently and promote teamwork
  • Experience with Property Management System, OPERA preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
  • Gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
  • Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers and point of sale systems
  • Renovation experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Maintain union vacation bids and ensure compliance under the Collective Bargaining agreement
  • Be available to cover front desk shifts including night audit if no coverage is available
  • Drive employee and guest satisfaction scores proactively
  • Manage Front Office Supervisors and Front Desk Agents
  • Maintain daily knowledge of house status, VIPs, and group arrivals
  • Represent or assist the General Manager in meetings to support interdepartmental communication
  • Liaise with the General Manager on feedback from internal and external reports and guest surveys
  • Manage upselling opportunities and email capture initiatives
  • Record and log all incidents occurring in the hotel and follow up with the General Manager
  • Ensure compliance with hotel credit policy and Standard Financial Procedures
  • Familiarize with special packages and promotions and communicate potential leads to Sales Department
  • Ensure guest names are known and used during arrivals and departures
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of front office work areas and equipment
  • Undertake special projects or reasonable requests from the General Manager
