Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality preferred
  • Strong communication skills in primary workplace language
  • Ability to operate office machines and clerical tools
  • Physical ability to move items up to 40 lbs
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including varying hours
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and safety standards
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and uniform standards
  • Capacity to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
  • Ability to respond to guest inquiries and complaints promptly
  • Competency in basic computer skills and PMS systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customers at all times
  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Utilize guest's names in interactions whenever possible
  • Promptly respond to all guest-related concerns including but not limited to complaints and special requests
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
  • Know how to clean guestrooms to standards
  • Know how to perform basic routine maintenance as well as how to properly operate all mechanical units within the guestroom
  • Know how to operate all laundry equipment
  • Keep maintenance personnel informed of all maintenance needs
  • Wear proper uniform attire in accordance with brand standards
  • Maintain personal cleanliness and neat appearance
  • Practice safety standards at all times
  • Be able to move miscellaneous items weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Work varying schedules to meet business needs
  • Check guests in and out efficiently and friendly
  • Post guest changes and compute guest bill using PMS
  • Collect payment and make change following cash handling procedures
  • Promote the hotel’s marketing programs
  • Track business via corporate/leisure information within PMS
  • Maintain a positive relationship with hotel sale personnel
  • Handle guest mail and messages per procedures
  • Develop knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies
  • Take reservation requests efficiently
  • Answer switchboard with proper telephone etiquette
  • Block rooms and handle special requests
  • Monitor room availability
  • Handle safe deposits by guests per procedures
  • Keep lobby and guest areas clean and presentable
  • Offer and handle wake-up calls
  • Open and close shift, make cash drops
  • Ensure credit cards, cash, and change fund are balanced each shift
  • Monitor signatures and authorization for credit card transactions
  • Monitor currency intake to protect against counterfeit bills
  • Inform management of guest or system complaints
  • Communicate shift information in front desk log
  • Pass on guest lost and found inquiries
  • Maintain office supplies to ensure continuous operations
  • Develop knowledge of local attractions and area businesses
  • Maintain basic knowledge of major interstates for directions
  • Send and receive facsimiles for guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
