Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
  • Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with guests from diverse backgrounds
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds
  • Willingness to comply with safety procedures and use personal protective equipment
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Food Handler’s certificate if working night shifts
  • Willingness to attend training sessions
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Job Qualifications

  • Guest service or customer service experience desired
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Basic computer skills to enter data, read, and interpret information
  • Attention to detail with problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and alert during busy periods or emergencies
  • Proficiency in English, ability to speak, read, write and understand
  • Proficiency in another language is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • May require Food Handler’s certificate if assigned to night shift
  • Ability to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Completion of all required training
  • Maintain clean appearance and professional demeanor.

Job Duties

  • Welcomes guests by greeting them in an enthusiastic and professional manner, answering questions and responding to requests
  • Registers hotel guest by obtaining or confirming room requirements, verifying preregistration, assigning rooms, obtaining information and signatures, issuing door key cards, and establishing guest credit
  • Directs guest to hotel rooms by showing room locations on a hotel map and calling Bellperson
  • Effectively deals with internal and external customers to resolve conflicts and collects accurate information
  • Maintains hotel records by entering required room and guest account data into systems, performs guest accounting functions, collects hotel revenue, and runs necessary reports
  • Maintains accuracy of cash banks, balances funds and provides change
  • Resolves guest complaints within the scope of authority and notifies management of any problems
  • Notifies management of any issues related to guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of Personal Protective Equipment and compliance with the hotel’s Hazardous Material program
  • Reports to work as scheduled, on time and on a regular basis
  • Provides concierge assistance by offering information about services and amenities and assisting with related reservations
  • Receives and processes telephone and walk-in reservations
  • Conveys messages and deliveries to guests
  • Improves job knowledge by attending training sessions
  • Contributes to guest services by welcoming new requests and helping others
  • Notifies management of unsafe conditions, maintenance needs or accidents
  • Prepares breakfast vouchers and delivers folios when working overnight shifts
  • May walk property to identify suspicious activity and contacts appropriate authority as needed.
