- previous experience in customer service or medical office preferred
- ability to handle multiple phone lines
- proficiency with computer systems and electronic records

- basic knowledge of insurance verification

Job Duties
- Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services
- registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays
- answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
- fields calls appropriately for center associates
- acts as liaison between technologists and patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and clinic information
- maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing supplies, and assisting with general office clean up
- orders office supplies as needed
- maintains supply of patient information sheets
- pushes imaging via electronic interfaces
- completes confirmation calls and provides preparation instructions to patient
- faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested
- verifies patient insurance
- pre-certifies all exams with patient insurance company
- obtains insurance authorization
- uses knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization prior to appointment
- handles release of information requests following company guidelines
- arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
- enters and submits patient exam orders
- verifies orders match exam schedules
- schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
- schedules walk-in patients
- processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
- maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on current and potential referring physicians
- performs other duties as assigned
