Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in patient registration or front office administration preferred
- ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- basic computer skills including proficiency with scheduling and EHR software
- knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification processes
- strong customer service orientation
- ability to handle confidential information with discretion

- experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR)
- ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- strong organizational skills
- knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures preferred
Job Duties
- Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services
- registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays
- answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
- fields calls appropriately for center associates
- acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
- maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office clean up
- orders office supplies as needed
- maintains supply of patient information sheets
- pushes imaging via electronic interfaces
- completes confirmation calls and provides preparation instructions to patient
- faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested
- verifies patient's insurance
- pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
- obtains insurance authorization
- uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
- handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following company guidelines
- arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
- enters and submits patient exam orders
- verifies orders match exam schedules
- schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
- schedules walk-in patients
- processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
- maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
- performs other duties as assigned
