Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one or more years of functional supervisory experience
  • two years food and beverage experience
  • current Food Handlers Permit
  • ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • excellent personal hygiene and compliance with health regulations
  • strong communication skills in English
  • ability to work mornings Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • availability for occasional after hours work
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and reach for extended periods
  • physical ability to handle kitchen equipment and maintain safety adherence
  • computer literacy including Microsoft Office suites and POS systems

Job Qualifications

  • AOS in hotel restaurant management or five years experience in restaurants, hotels, or related food service operations of similar caliber
  • one or more years of functional supervisory experience
  • two years food and beverage experience
  • preferred one year sports arena club level or on-site catering experience
  • preferred knowledge of cash handling procedures and bank reconciliation
  • observable good business etiquette
  • observable zest for food, beverage, and guest service
  • current Food Handlers Permit
  • preferred ServSafe Manager Certification or willingness to complete within three months of hire
  • moderate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and online ordering programs
  • ability to navigate and utilize POS systems and other operational machines
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • ability to communicate with leaders, managers, customers, and associates
  • fluent in kitchen language and common cooking and service terms
  • demonstrated ability to read and follow instructions
  • additional languages a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures high caliber guest service during each interaction with each guest, vendor, team member, and visitor
  • provides excellent customer service, greets guests while in the dining room, takes ownership over guest needs, and represents the MACU brand professionally
  • responsible for food prep including peeling, cutting, stocking, and storing fruits and vegetables
  • supports guest check out, station sign maintenance, beverage ordering and inventory including coffee, cleaning, and stocking all FOH items, and some dish washing
  • greets guests, answers questions, and resolves issues throughout service and dining room
  • responsible for all front of house breakfast setup including preparing fruit and yogurt bar, pastry displays, signage, and coffee station brewing and cleaning
  • sets up required food stations as outlined by Manager
  • communicates with Chef and sous chefs to properly label and set up guest facing food stations
  • deescalates difficult situations while remaining positive and professional
  • maintains knowledge of and compliance with Health Department regulations and hygiene standards
  • participates in departmental meetings and staff development
  • performs additional duties as assigned based on business needs
