Job Requirements

  • must be at least 16 years of age
  • ability to work days, nights, and/or weekends as required
  • ability to work in noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions
  • ability to read and write handwritten notes
  • ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • ability to move about facility and stand for long periods of time
  • ability to walk or stand 100 percent of shift
  • ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in restaurant, retail, or cashier roles preferred but not required
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • friendly and positive attitude
  • basic math skills for handling transactions
  • ability to read and write in English
  • ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with dissatisfied guests

Job Duties

  • deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun
  • act as ambassador to the building, greeting guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephones
  • keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action or suggest alternative courses of action
  • bid farewell to guests leaving, ensure everything was satisfactory and invite guests to return
  • prepare for the shift by ensuring area is stocked with supplies including menus, silverware, power cards, gift cards
  • review cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station
  • ensure all menus are stocked and properly cleaned and maintained
  • check for restocking necessary supplies
  • bring all areas up to standard
  • discuss problem areas with manager
  • conduct merchandise inventory during and after shift if applicable
  • maintain favorable working relationships with all team members to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate
  • notify manager of any guest perceived to be unhappy
  • assist other team members as needed or as business dictates
  • drive table turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing and cleaning tables as necessary
  • rotate seating appropriately following guidelines to ensure fairness and balance in dining areas
  • manage flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing as needed
  • manage wait times and communicate information to guests, team members, and managers
  • deliver silverware as guests are seated
  • make timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions
  • greet and assist guests efficiently and with a smile while processing transactions
  • be responsible for reconciliation of any monies from their banks
  • complete "to go" order transactions for guests and ensure accuracy
  • sell merchandise from the front desk if applicable
  • be friendly and able to smile frequently
  • communicate effectively with multiple guests while generating enthusiasm for Dave & Buster's
  • be dressed according to dress guidelines, looking neat, clean and professional at all times
  • demonstrate ability to read and communicate in English
  • articulate clear greetings, requests for assistance, and farewells to guests
  • respond calmly to dissatisfied guests and call issues to manager's attention
  • be at least 16 years of age
