Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in hotel front office or related hospitality role
  • knowledge of hotel operating departments
  • proficiency with hotel computer systems
  • strong financial and supervisory skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • ability to work varying shifts including nights and weekends
  • willingness to relocate within the hospitality network
  • physical ability to perform inspections and move throughout guest floors
  • CPR certification and/or first aid training preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of all operating departments including rooms, front office, housekeeping, engineering, accounting, sales, and food and beverage in limited service hotel operations
  • considerable knowledge of computer systems for guest registration, reservations, and reporting
  • above average financial comprehension
  • supervisory skills proficient in task accomplishment
  • ability to develop subordinates for advancement
  • ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers using patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • well-groomed in uniform or business attire
  • trained in CPR certification and/or first aid training preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensures complete guest satisfaction
  • achieves financial goals
  • drives the revenue management process
  • manage and motivate all front office personnel including staffing, training, discipline, scheduling and monitoring performance
  • checks and controls room reservations, front office systems, supplies inventory, scheduling, forecasting and department budget
  • communicates with guests and employees verbally and in writing
  • organize, conduct and/or attend meetings to disseminate information
  • implement and monitor corporate marketing initiatives
  • investigate guest complaints
  • participate and/or steer the hotel Safety Committee
  • ensure quality standards and services are maintained
  • provide assistance and instruction to employees and make routine hiring decisions
  • manages guest service relations, training, and guest response processes
  • communicate daily with management and department heads
  • assist in sales calls as part of hotel sales effort
  • work all shifts including varying schedules
  • relocate within Winston Hospitality for future growth
  • ensure security for hotel customers, employees, and property
  • remain current on business trends and local activities
  • enforce established policies and procedures
  • assist in check-in/check-out of guests
  • perform room inspections
  • assist in operational audits and develop corrective action plans
  • practice the Winston Hospitality culture and ensure its implementation
  • support hotel’s training efforts
  • monitor guest scores and focus on product improvement
