Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two to three years supervisory experience
  • one year front desk experience
  • basic computer proficiency
  • ability to manage and resolve guest issues
  • excellent verbal communication skills
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to supervise and train staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
  • two to three years of supervisory experience preferred
  • at least one year experience at a hotel front desk
  • basic computer skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to lead and train a team
  • strong problem-solving abilities
  • commitment to customer service excellence
  • familiarity with hotel front desk operations and procedures

Job Duties

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
  • verify customers' credit and establish payment methods
  • contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems
  • make and confirm reservations
  • issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops
  • keep records of room availability and guests' accounts using computers or manually
  • post charges for rooms, food, or telephone calls to ledgers
  • compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
  • record guest comments or complaints and refer to managers if necessary
  • answer inquiries about hotel services, registration, travel directions, and make recommendations
  • clean and maintain lobby and common areas
  • plan, schedule, or supervise the work of front desk staff
  • advise housekeeping when rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning
  • assist guests with check-in, check-out, and special requests as per SOPs
  • assist in training new front desk associates and provide ongoing training
  • ensure staff knowledge of hotel emergency procedures
  • balance cash and complete end-of-shift checklist
  • greet guests professionally and handle questions and problems within empowerment guidelines
