Job Duties
- Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
- verify customers' credit and establish payment methods
- contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems
- make and confirm reservations
- issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops
- keep records of room availability and guests' accounts using computers or manually
- post charges for rooms, food, or telephone calls to ledgers
- compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
- record guest comments or complaints and refer to managers if necessary
- answer inquiries about hotel services, registration, travel directions, and make recommendations
- clean and maintain lobby and common areas
- plan, schedule, or supervise the work of front desk staff
- advise housekeeping when rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning
- assist guests with check-in, check-out, and special requests as per SOPs
- assist in training new front desk associates and provide ongoing training
- ensure staff knowledge of hotel emergency procedures
- balance cash and complete end-of-shift checklist
- greet guests professionally and handle questions and problems within empowerment guidelines
