Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in front desk or hospitality customer service roles
  • Proficiency in English language
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Experience with cash handling and point of sale systems
  • Ability to remain calm and tactful in stressful situations

Job Qualifications

  • Know standard cash handling procedures and knowledge of computerized cash register systems
  • Must have past experience in dealing directly with the public
  • Acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Able to work on more than one task at a time
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems
  • Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details
  • Familiar with standard office equipment including telephone, copier, POS, PC, fax machine, and PBX system

Job Duties

  • Responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services
  • Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns
  • Manages front office and valet staff during appropriate shifts
  • Oversees all day to day operations of Front Desk and Valet staffs, insuring that all established front office and hotel policies are followed
  • Greets and completes established check-in procedures for arriving guests on a daily basis using manual and computerized methods
  • Facilitates guest departure and check-out by following manual and computer procedures to close guest accounts
  • Calculates and posts monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using accurate cash handling methods
  • Answers inquiries and accepts reservations by communicating hotel rates and information and using suggestive selling techniques
  • Maintains good customer relations by being knowledgeable of in-house and area functions
  • Operates PBX equipment by answering and assisting calls, setting wake-up calls and paging guests
  • Maximizes revenue in phone, desk, or valet transactions
  • Controls cash transactions at front desk or valet area and maintains responsibility for personal bank
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
  • Processes all guest mail, messages and faxes
  • Reviews guest issues, contacts appropriate departments for resolution, determines recovery, follows up, and maintains incident logs
  • Contributes to front desk log books and communication sources
  • Ensures shift sheets are completed daily
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
