Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • experience in a medical practice or similar setting preferred but not necessary
  • bilingual abilities in Spanish or Portuguese are a plus but not required
  • experience with Allscripts or Epic is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Greet patients in a pleasant and timely manner
  • utilize practice management system to create provider records, scan medical records and documents including active medical insurance cards, drivers license or equivalent ID, and maintain insurance information
  • verify registration forms are complete and obtain referring physician and primary physician information
  • ensure patient has current referral on date of service, obtain referral if necessary
  • verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to office visits and procedures
  • collect all applicable co-payment, coinsurance, deductible or outstanding balance from the patient and post all payments collected
  • ensure time-of-service batch is balanced and closed daily
  • research and assist patients with questions regarding balances including collecting applicable payments
  • maintain cleanliness and neatness of lobby/reception area to include stocking of business cards
  • other duties as assigned
