Job Requirements

  • Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer

Job Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Knowledge of death and dying issues and awareness of hospice mission and philosophy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer

Job Duties

  • Answers telephone and routes calls or messages to appropriate staff
  • Greets visitors, discerns their needs, and refers them to proper staff person or meeting room
  • Addresses and sends email messages in a timely manner
  • Performs office activities to promote smooth operation of the agency and organizational goals
  • Ensures phones switch to answering service at 4:30 PM with correct after-hours coverage info
  • Is at workstation at 8:00 AM and retrieves messages
  • Receives shipments from USPS, UPS, FedEx, and routes to appropriate staff
