Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting is a plus
- Ability to read and write simple correspondence
- Basic math skills
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, sit, talk, and listen
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Willingness to work in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to contagious illnesses
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including shifts, standby, on-call
- Ability to maintain a professional, pleasant demeanor consistently

Job Duties
- Greeting patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner in person and over the phone
- Check patients in and out
- Verify benefits and collect copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles
- Assist staff and patients with clerical duties including copying, scanning, and faxing documents
- Create and maintain patient files
- Screen phone calls and direct them appropriately, taking messages when necessary
- Provide callers with company information such as address, directions, fax numbers, and website
- Confirm all paperwork is filled out correctly
- Maintain cleanliness and presentability of the front desk, waiting room, and children’s play area
- Perform light housekeeping duties including emptying trash, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning counters
- Encourage a friendly and respectful work environment
- Provide a customer-focused, friendly, reassuring atmosphere to patients and their families
- Follow all HIPAA policies and company procedures
