Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited technical school or three years progressively responsible experience in a medical/dental office setting
- excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- formal computer training or equivalent work experience
- ability to hear and speak clearly
- vision adequate to read documents and computer screens
- manual dexterity
- ability to lift at least 20 pounds
- ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- must provide own vehicle for local travel
- may be required to travel to other sites for shift coverage
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of dental and medical terminology and anatomy
- understanding of insurance and patient billing and reimbursement
Job Duties
- Answer telephone to schedule appointments, provide information, and take messages
- greet patients and explain services, billing procedures, and costs for services
- schedule appointments in accordance with office policies and procedures
- assist patients with filling out forms for initial intake and yearly updates
- enter billing and collection data, verify insurance, and obtain authorization as needed
- retrieve charts and patient information as required
- file lab reports, forms, and other documents in patient records
- set up new dental/medical charts and accounts as needed
- enter provider schedules and make changes in practice management system
- perform all front office, medical record room, or billing office activities as required
- verify insurance enrollment and procedural eligibility
- submit prior authorizations for procedures as needed
- perform other related duties as required
