Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of customer service experience
  • relevant front desk experience within healthcare preferred
  • certification in scheduling and registration preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • one year of relevant front desk experience within healthcare preferred

Job Duties

  • Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls
  • provides general information in person and on the telephone
  • verifies patient demographic information including insurance verification prior to patient visits
  • performs data entry of patient demographic information
  • registers all patients at each visit according to policy
  • receives and documents patient payments including co-payments and past balances
  • schedules patients for physician visits and maintains appointment calendars
  • processes referral requests from physicians and patients
  • notifies clinical personnel of patient arrival
  • processes and delivers departmental mail
  • tracks and follows up on lab reports
  • coordinates faxes, files, and office information
  • processes and maintains medical records abiding by protocol
  • checks out patients including charge entry, scheduling future appointments, and facilitating referrals
  • performs other duties as assigned
