Job Requirements

  • must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer and phone
  • occasional walking and standing required
  • ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • complete medical clearance requirements including documentation of hepatitis B vaccination, pneumococcal screening, and tuberculosis screening
  • full-time availability Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • excellent organizational and time management skills

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED required
  • MA Certificate of Completion
  • minimum of 2 years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher
  • familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
  • ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • answer and route incoming calls using a multi-line phone system
  • greet and check in/out patients
  • enter accurate insurance and patient information into the electronic health system
  • collect copays, balances, and deductibles
  • reconcile daily payments
  • assist with patient flow in coordination with medical assistants
  • provide directions and general information to patients and visitors
  • maintain visitor logs and issue access passes when needed
  • update appointment calendars and scheduling systems
  • receive, sort, and distribute mail and faxes
  • order and maintain office supplies
  • verify patient insurance eligibility for date of service
  • assist with other administrative duties as assigned
