Job Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer and phone
  • Occasional walking and standing required
  • Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • Completion of medical clearance requirements including hepatitis B vaccination, pneumococcal screening, and tuberculosis screening
  • Willingness to work full-time Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Answer and route incoming calls using a multi-line phone system
  • Greet and check in/out patients
  • Enter accurate insurance and patient information into the electronic health system
  • Collect copays, balances, and deductibles
  • reconcile daily payments
  • Assist with the patient flow in coordination with medical assistants
  • Provide directions and general information to patients and visitors
  • Maintain visitor logs and issue access passes when needed
  • Update appointment calendars and scheduling systems
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and faxes
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility for date of service
  • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned
