Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience as a medical receptionist preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Proficiency with computer and office equipment
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel to local offices
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to operate keyboards
  • Correctable vision and normal hearing for telephone use

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • 1-3 years recent experience as a medical receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting preferred
  • Previous experience in dermatology preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Working knowledge of multi-line phone systems
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with EMR utilization
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly
  • Ability to travel to provide coverage for other local offices as needed

Job Duties

  • Greet each patient in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Screen calls, schedule appointments and referrals
  • Take accurate, concise phone messages
  • Enter complete patient demographics when making appointments
  • Evaluate chart data to verify all information is complete and signed
  • Check-in and check-out patients
  • Track patients in the reception area and communicate as needed
  • Proactively collect patient payments
  • Update product inventory weekly
  • Treat patients with dignity and empathy
  • Fulfill inventory orders
  • Run end of day reports and balance payment totals as closer
  • Distribute incoming reports and correspondence
  • Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and mail are addressed immediately
  • Assist other staff as needed
  • Perform other duties assigned by management
