Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year work experience as receptionist, front office representative or similar role in medical setting
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • experience using office equipment like fax machines and printers
  • solid communication skills
  • professional attitude and appearance
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to work well with patients, employees and the public
  • bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • medical assistant certification preferred but not required
  • minimum 1 year work experience as receptionist or front office representative in a medical setting
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • hands-on experience with office equipment such as fax machines and printers
  • solid written and verbal communication skills
  • professional attitude and appearance
  • ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Identify caller and direct to appropriate person or place
  • coordinate and reschedule patient appointments
  • follow office scheduling policies
  • check patients in and out
  • update patient information such as address or insurance
  • verify patient eligibility prior to appointments
  • help patients complete necessary forms
  • print superbills and appointment labels
  • prepare records for providers
  • receive and post payments and co-pays
  • issue receipts
  • run reports to balance payments
  • prepare daily deposit
  • manage reports on no shows
  • obtain insurance authorizations
  • assist in pharmacy refills
  • scan reports from providers
  • maintain work area and lobby neat
  • maintain records confidentially
  • comply with safety and health rules
  • perform other duties as assigned by team leader
