Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fundamental written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Ability to understand standard office procedures
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to learn office technology systems
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills
  • Typing and keyboard skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Completion of satisfactory background check

Job Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Associate’s Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration preferred
  • Two years of experience as a Receptionist, Administrative Assistant or Clerical preferred
  • Experience working in higher education or public sector preferred
  • Experience with computer and phone systems
  • Proficiency with Google email, Google Calendars, Zoom, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience handling high volume of traffic in-person, phone calls, and emails
  • Professional attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist visitors, students, and university employees directing them to the appropriate offices or personnel
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming calls
  • Take messages and manage appointment scheduling and calendars
  • Provide accurate information about campus and Student Health Services policies, procedures, and resources
  • Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and operating standard office equipment
  • Schedule and supervise student assistants supporting front desk operations
