Job Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- 1-3 years recent experience as a medical receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting preferred
- Previous experience in dermatology preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
- Detail-oriented
- Working knowledge of multi-line phone system
- Able to operate standard office equipment such as computer, fax, copier, scanner
- Intermediate computer skills and experience in EMR utilization
- Fluent in English
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically
- Ability to travel to and provide coverage for other local offices as needed

Job Duties
- Greet each patient in a pleasant and professional manner
- Screen calls, schedules appointments and referrals
- Take accurate, concise phone messages
- Enter complete patient demographics when making appointments
- Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been received, completed and signed
- Check-in and check-out patients
- Track patients in the reception area and communicate with patients as needed
- Proactively collect patient payments
- Update product inventory weekly
- Always treat patients with dignity and empathy
- Fulfill inventory orders
- As closer - run end of day reports and balance payment totals
- Distribute incoming reports and correspondence in patient charts
- Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed immediately
- Assist other staff as needed
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management
