Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • One year of relevant office experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to thrive at work with minimal supervision and exercise good, independent judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines
  • Typing speed of 40 net words per minute or greater
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to print and write legibly
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public
  • Ability to work the required hours of the position

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • One year of relevant office experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Typing speed of 40 net words per minute or greater
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Job Duties

  • Maintain the confidential nature of client and business information per departmental standards and State/Federal confidentiality laws
  • Answer incoming phone calls and inquiries or refer to proper official or department
  • Receive and relay messages to proper department or employee in paper or electronic format
  • Greet clients and visitors, direct them, provide information, and notify appropriate staff of their arrival
  • Receive payments, issue receipts, and account for monies handled
  • Obtain information from public, clients, or staff for completion of forms and documents
  • Maintain computer information systems
  • Monitor video camera and report issues to department manager
  • Develop and maintain files according to departmental standards
  • Prepare and close office as applicable
  • Assist with various projects and programs as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
  • Attend in-service training and meetings
  • Greet walk-in clientele and assist them as necessary
  • Perform specialized clerical assignments with minimal supervision
  • Perform data entry into departmental databases and documents
  • Assist staff with faxing, copying, and printing
  • Sort and distribute department mail and correspondences
  • Handle and reconcile resident trust funds and petty cash accounts in compliance with policies
  • Perform related functions as assigned
