Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
  • ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • proficiency in basic computer applications
  • ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
  • excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Great customer service skills
  • knowledge of medical terminology oncology/hematology specific
  • basic computer knowledge
  • previous oncology/hematology experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and direct patients and visitors
  • gate keeping
  • patient registration/check-out
  • collect co-payments and deductibles
  • reconcile daily cash report
  • schedule and update patient appointments, blood transfusions, and diagnostic tests
  • answer telephone and respond to inquiries
  • direct caller to appropriate personnel or initiate triage message
  • record accurate and complete messages
  • maintain supplies and cleanliness of the front office
  • ensure maintenance of patient confidentiality
  • demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
  • accurately document in the EMR system
  • train new hires on process and procedures
  • maintain accurate records for appointments
  • sort incoming mail
  • verify patient's insurance information and update billing staff
