  • Previous experience working in a medical office or dental office
  • familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
  • proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • knowledge of medical insurance and verification
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • knowledge of phone systems

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members
  • verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
  • maintain patient records and update medical information as necessary
  • assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
  • provide excellent customer service to patients and address any inquiries or concerns
  • ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable
