Job Requirements
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday by rotation
- Must have daily reliable transportation
- Ability to work two weeks of 12-hour shifts and one week of 10-hour shifts on a rotational basis
- Must be able to regularly attend work
- Willingness to maintain a positive and professional demeanor
- Ability to operate office equipment proficiently
- Capability to handle insurance and billing follow-up tasks
- Commitment to the organization’s IMPACT core values
- Pass criminal background check, education verification, reference checks, and TB test
Job Qualifications
- Prior face-to-face customer service experience or healthcare-related field experience
- Basic understanding of health insurance and medical billing
- Prior experience in a medical office preferred
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude
- Ability to perform basic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to respond to departmental requests promptly and positively
- Demonstrated decision-making ability and follow-through
- Willingness to accept new responsibilities
- Ability to recognize and analyze new situations and propose workable solutions
Job Duties
- Open the reception area timely and monitor lobby activities
- Welcome visitors and announce them to appropriate personnel
- Answer telephone calls, greet and direct patients and visitors
- Enter and update patient information in HST and NextGen
- Assist with insurance claim follow-up and billing tasks
- Check in patients by updating demographic and insurance details and collecting co-pays
- Operate office equipment and report malfunctions
- Interact with co-workers, patients, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Perform front office duties efficiently and correctly
- Accept and adapt to changes in front desk procedures
- Provide a role model for customer service and excellent patient care
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Maintain regular attendance at work
