Job Requirements

  • Availability to work Monday through Saturday by rotation
  • Must have daily reliable transportation
  • Ability to work two weeks of 12-hour shifts and one week of 10-hour shifts on a rotational basis
  • Must be able to regularly attend work
  • Willingness to maintain a positive and professional demeanor
  • Ability to operate office equipment proficiently
  • Capability to handle insurance and billing follow-up tasks
  • Commitment to the organization’s IMPACT core values
  • Pass criminal background check, education verification, reference checks, and TB test

Job Qualifications

  • Prior face-to-face customer service experience or healthcare-related field experience
  • Basic understanding of health insurance and medical billing
  • Prior experience in a medical office preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude
  • Ability to perform basic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to respond to departmental requests promptly and positively
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability and follow-through
  • Willingness to accept new responsibilities
  • Ability to recognize and analyze new situations and propose workable solutions

Job Duties

  • Open the reception area timely and monitor lobby activities
  • Welcome visitors and announce them to appropriate personnel
  • Answer telephone calls, greet and direct patients and visitors
  • Enter and update patient information in HST and NextGen
  • Assist with insurance claim follow-up and billing tasks
  • Check in patients by updating demographic and insurance details and collecting co-pays
  • Operate office equipment and report malfunctions
  • Interact with co-workers, patients, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Perform front office duties efficiently and correctly
  • Accept and adapt to changes in front desk procedures
  • Provide a role model for customer service and excellent patient care
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular attendance at work
