Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer proficiency
- Availability to work part-time including rotating Saturdays
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Familiarity with dental office procedures a plus
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Patience and sensitivity when dealing with patients
Job Qualifications
- Excellent customer and patient service skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand information
- Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience with dental management software preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational and detail-oriented skills
- Good interpersonal and listening skills
- Previous dental office experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn with training provided
Job Duties
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer the phone and schedule appointments
- Maintain patient accounts and records
- Know and understand insurance plan rules and protocols and follow them
- Be patient and sensitive to patient emotions
- Listen to patients and healthcare workers and follow directions
- Verify patient insurance
- Ensure accurate and complete record keeping
- Submit claims to insurance companies
- Notify Office Manager of equipment or safety concerns
- Attend morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular meetings
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Understand and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards
- Perform other assigned tasks
