Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • basic life support certification
  • prior experience in a medical receptionist or similar role preferred
  • familiarity with electronic medical records systems
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to multitask
  • proficiency with scheduling and administrative tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • basic life support (CPR & AED) certification
  • experience with Athena Medical Records (preferred)
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • customer service-oriented approach
  • knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome patients upon arrival, creating a friendly and professional atmosphere
  • manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate collection of patient information and payment processing
  • answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding appointments, clinic services, and general questions
  • schedule and confirm appointments via phone or in person, coordinating between patients and healthcare providers
  • maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork, answering any questions they may have
  • verify insurance information and handle co-payments, resolving billing issues when needed
  • communicate with healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely appointments
  • perform general office duties such as filing, faxing, and ordering office supplies as necessary
  • provide a positive and engaging patient experience, addressing concerns and providing guidance as needed
