Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school
  • Two years of office experience
  • Keyboarding skills at 45 wpm
  • Ability to speak, write, and translate Spanish at a colloquial level
  • Ability to work overtime including evenings and weekends
  • Physical ability to perform light work
  • Completion of background check
  • Self-disclosure of criminal history
  • Authorized to work full-time in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of office experience
  • Ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm
  • Ability to speak, write, and translate Spanish colloquially
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems preferred
  • Knowledge of office methods and procedures preferred
  • Skills in writing, composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software preferred

Job Duties

  • Answers multiple telephone lines for the Department of Labor including minimum wage, overtime, child labor, and wage payment inquiries
  • Performs intake functions on mail, email, and online complaint applications
  • Performs translating functions for Spanish-speaking clients
  • Responds to in-person and written inquiries concerning labor laws and claim filing procedures
  • Records information from wage claim applications on file folders
  • Attends to the reception area for the Chicago Office
  • Performs other duties as assigned within scope
