Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • at least two years experience in front office work in a medical practice
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • willingness to travel to other sites
  • ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day
  • capable of intermittently stooping, bending, speaking, and listening
  • able to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • minimum two years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience
  • excellent customer service skills
  • attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • proficient knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 codes
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient computer software and database skills
  • comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to ask probing questions with a caring and compassionate attitude
  • maintain HIPAA compliance
  • able to multitask and proactively solve problems
  • ability to type 40 words per minute

Job Duties

  • Create a positive and professional first impression of the practice and show patients a caring attitude
  • schedule appointments and assist with scheduling additional testing directed by physicians
  • ensure all required patient paperwork is compiled for each day
  • safeguard collection of co-pays and past balances and enter them into Practice Management
  • enter patient demographics and clinical information into Practice Management and EHR
  • scan patients' driver’s licenses and insurance cards into the system
  • obtain and scan required referrals, linking them to appointments
  • reconcile payment batches daily and submit to Site Manager
  • schedule follow-up procedures and coordinate local ASC cases
  • assist patients with Phreesia registration
  • travel to other sites within the region as required
