Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- at least two years experience in front office work in a medical practice
- 1-2 years customer service experience
- willingness to travel to other sites
- ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day
- capable of intermittently stooping, bending, speaking, and listening
- able to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- minimum two years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting
- 1-2 years of customer service experience
- excellent customer service skills
- attention to detail and willingness to learn
- proficient knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 codes
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- proficient computer software and database skills
- comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- ability to ask probing questions with a caring and compassionate attitude
- maintain HIPAA compliance
- able to multitask and proactively solve problems
- ability to type 40 words per minute
Job Duties
- Create a positive and professional first impression of the practice and show patients a caring attitude
- schedule appointments and assist with scheduling additional testing directed by physicians
- ensure all required patient paperwork is compiled for each day
- safeguard collection of co-pays and past balances and enter them into Practice Management
- enter patient demographics and clinical information into Practice Management and EHR
- scan patients' driver’s licenses and insurance cards into the system
- obtain and scan required referrals, linking them to appointments
- reconcile payment batches daily and submit to Site Manager
- schedule follow-up procedures and coordinate local ASC cases
- assist patients with Phreesia registration
- travel to other sites within the region as required
