Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in customer service preferred
  • ability to work part time including Saturdays
  • available for 2 or more days a week up to 29 hours
  • ability to work multiple half day shifts or fewer full day shifts
  • patient and sensitive to emotions
  • ability to follow directions from supervisors and dentists
  • understanding of confidentiality and healthcare regulations

  • Excellent customer and patient service skills
  • strong verbal communication skills
  • ability to read, write, speak, and understand information
  • common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions
  • basic computer knowledge
  • dental management software experience preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
  • organizational skills and detail oriented
  • strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • previous dental office experience preferred but not required
  • willing to undergo training

Job Duties

  • Greet and check in patients
  • answer the phone and schedule appointments
  • maintain patient accounts and records
  • understand and follow insurance plan rules and protocols
  • demonstrate patience and sensitivity to patient emotions
  • listen to patients and healthcare workers and follow directions from dentists or supervisors
  • verify patient's insurance
  • ensure all record keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed
  • submit claims to insurance companies
  • notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or safety concerns
  • attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings
  • follow company policy and procedures
  • understand and follow HIPAA regulations, state and federal OSHA laws and safety standards
  • maintain confidentiality
  • perform other assigned tasks
