Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in medical office or receptionist role preferred
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- exceptional assessment and critical thinking skills
- emotional stability to cope with human suffering and emergencies
- ability to work independently and collaboratively
- ability to multitask and manage priorities
- commitment to confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
Job Qualifications
- Great customer service skills
- medical terminology oncology/hematology specific
- basic computer knowledge
- previous oncology/hematology experience preferred
Job Duties
- Greet and direct patients and visitors
- gate keeping
- patient registration/check-out
- collect co-payments and deductibles
- reconcile daily cash report
- schedule and update patient appointments, blood transfusions, and diagnostic tests
- answer telephone and respond to inquiries or direct callers
- maintain supplies and cleanliness of the front office
- ensure maintenance of patient confidentiality
- demonstrate exceptional customer service
- accurately document in EMR system
- train new hires on office processes
- maintain accurate appointment records
- sort incoming mail
- verify patient insurance information and update billing staff
