Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience in a receptionist or clerical role or completion of a secretarial program from an accredited school or college
- Ability to make independent decisions in emergency situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of administrative procedures
- Optimistic attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new methods
- Preferred experience in a nursing home environment

- Proficiency in word processing, email, and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Office
- Preferred one year experience working in a nursing home environment
Job Duties
- Answers telephone and directs callers to appropriate departments
- Refers to nursing home directory to ascertain correct station
- Takes messages for staff members
- Responds to routine correspondence and inquiries
- Meets and greets new residents and orients them to facility services
- Resolves customer requests, questions, and complaints
- Serves as liaison between residents and other departments
- Completes clerical work for administrative and facility personnel
- Opens, delivers, and forwards mail
- Records appointments and meetings for staff
- Files necessary documents
- Alerts specified individuals and agencies in case of emergencies
- Assembles materials for reports and questionnaires
- Updates resident directory including names, room locations, and telephone extensions
- Arranges service for office equipment
- Performs other office duties as required or assigned
