Job Requirements

  • Limited typing (25wpm) sufficient to type envelopes, forms, labels and short correspondence
  • effective oral and written English communication skills sufficient to answer telephones, take messages, follow instructions, and file or locate documents
  • manual skills to assemble materials, stuff envelopes, file, operate copy machine and computer for data entry
  • maintain confidentiality
  • occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis
  • perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking
  • sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands and arms
  • active member of a Roman Catholic Faith Community

Job Qualifications

  • Limited typing skills of 25 words per minute
  • effective oral and written English communication skills
  • manual dexterity to assemble materials and operate office equipment
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Answer telephones and take messages
  • check e-mails daily
  • greet visitors and notify appropriate person
  • receive and distribute parish mail, email, packages, and bulletins
  • follow emergency call procedure to route calls
  • organize and maintain reception work area
  • update parish database with new parishioners
  • prepare and distribute parish communications
  • update calendar for appointments
  • record Mass intentions and communicate prayer requests
  • accept payments and maintain logs
  • place orders for parish supplies
  • perform routine clerical duties such as typing, filing, and stuffing envelopes
