Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years medical office experience
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn new software applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Prior clinic or hospital experience preferred
- Bilingual abilities a plus
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a clinic or hospital environment preferred
- Computer literacy including email, Microsoft Office, and scheduling applications
- Ability to learn and use Tufts network programs
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of third party billing preferred
- Ability to maintain confidential medical information
- Bilingual skills preferred
- High school diploma with specialized training in business office skills preferred
- 1-2 years medical office experience preferred
Job Duties
- Schedules patient appointments including follow-ups and surgical coordination
- Assists with scheduling template creation and changes
- Answers phones, triages calls, and responds to patient requests
- Greets and checks-in patients, verifies demographic and insurance information
- Assists with revenue cycle clearance including referral management and insurance verification
- Collects copayments
- Prepares medical records and documentation for visits
- Monitors patient flow and communicates delays
- Assists with billing charge entry and reconciliation
- Completes general office duties including faxing, filing, mailing, and ordering supplies
- Provides clerical support to physicians and demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Participates in performance improvement projects
- Performs related duties as required
