Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged
- at least one year of experience in patient financial services or insurance related field
- strong multitasking and organizational skills
- excellent oral and written communication abilities
- proficiency in common office software
- ability to work independently
- must obtain and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in applicable behavioral health settings
- ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged
- knowledge of patient financial services and insurance processes
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- proficiency in office software including word processing and databases
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- experience preferred in cash collections and company systems
- additional education or experience in related fields preferred
Job Duties
- perform registration and check-in processes including data entry and obtaining necessary signatures
- verify insurance eligibility benefits and assist in obtaining necessary pre-certifications and authorizations
- calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies to patients
- enter payments and charges for services, reconcile payments daily, balance cash drawer and prepare bank deposits
- schedule office visits and procedures maximizing reimbursement and confirm patient appointments
- communicate proactively with patients, staff and management to optimize patient flow
- assist with patient medical records requests following company policies and legal guidelines
