Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • at least one year of experience in patient financial services or insurance related field
  • strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • proficiency in common office software
  • ability to work independently
  • must obtain and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in applicable behavioral health settings
  • ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or ged
  • knowledge of patient financial services and insurance processes
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • proficiency in office software including word processing and databases
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • experience preferred in cash collections and company systems
  • additional education or experience in related fields preferred

Job Duties

  • perform registration and check-in processes including data entry and obtaining necessary signatures
  • verify insurance eligibility benefits and assist in obtaining necessary pre-certifications and authorizations
  • calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies to patients
  • enter payments and charges for services, reconcile payments daily, balance cash drawer and prepare bank deposits
  • schedule office visits and procedures maximizing reimbursement and confirm patient appointments
  • communicate proactively with patients, staff and management to optimize patient flow
  • assist with patient medical records requests following company policies and legal guidelines
