Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting preferred
  • Basic proficiency in mathematics
  • Familiarity with 10-key calculator use
  • Ability to operate hotel front office software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work overnight shifts regularly
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing excellent guest service

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills, ability to make accurate calculations using a 10-key
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest and associate concerns in a friendly and positive manner
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using complex computer systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers and the public

Job Duties

  • Ensure a warm welcome, anticipation of guest needs and fond farewell for any guests during the overnight shift
  • Prepare daily Restaurant Revenue Report by auditing Point of Service tapes and journals, breaking down revenue, covers, waiters' fees, tips paid out and settlements
  • Run audit reports and journals from the front office system and Point of Service
  • Make corrections and adjustments, handle computer problems during the shift
  • Input revenue, expenses and allowances into the front office system to generate daily reports such as Guest Ledger Summary and Daily Restaurant Summary
  • Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files, and reset the system for next day operations
  • Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure proper processes and communicate regularly
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
