  • must be reliable and responsible
  • ability to communicate effectively in oral situations
  • ability to read and understand written and oral instructions
  • human relations skills to deal effectively with visitors/customers in person or on the telephone
  • ability to exhibit maturity in the workplace and have a cooperative attitude
  • ability to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Greet and register guests
  • reconcile all transactions from cashier paperwork to ensure accuracy
  • answer phones following Moody Gardens phone etiquette
  • provide constant feedback to hotel management and department heads concerning service issues including guest desires, complaints and comments
  • check guests out of the hotel
  • resolve guest challenges throughout their stay in the hotel
  • balance all outlets and post correctly
  • after balancing the day, turn the day in the front office system
  • maintain open and excellent communication with all department heads
  • upgrade guests and promote hotel services and amenities
  • complete the registration process, code electronic keys, and select rooms based on guest needs
  • ensure guest knows location of room and arrange for team member to accompany guest to room
  • maintain up-to-date status on in-house groups, functions, arrivals and departures
  • review VIP arrivals and ensure guest’s needs for special requests are met
  • perform any and all other duties as assigned, subject to change as management deems necessary
