Job Duties

  • Works at the first floor reception desk, maintains control of all people entering the building
  • greets visitors, determines the purpose of their business, and contacts the appropriate staff member with whom they are meeting
  • ensures that they sign the visitor confidentiality form
  • meets residents returning from trips outside the building, inspects any packages or items that are being brought into the building
  • observes clients’ demeanor to help identify anyone who may be intoxicated
  • registers clients’ return and time of return in the appropriate log sheet
  • allows or delays clients’ return to the program as needed
  • monitors live video feed, maintains aware of activity outside the building
  • maintains awareness of area, reports any unusual circumstances or conditions
  • answers incoming phone calls and directs them to the appropriate extension
  • receives mail or packages, and forwards to appropriate staff
  • manages, disburses, and accounts for Metrocards for clients with approved outside itineraries
  • participates in obtaining required daily AFIS Finger Imaging of clients
  • performs other duties as requested or assigned
