Job Requirements

  • minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role at an upscale hotel
  • excellent phone and verbal communication skills
  • union experience preferred
  • previous supervisory hotel experience preferred
  • flexible schedule with availability to work nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to move freely within front desk area
  • ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods
  • ability to perform sustained repetitive motions and fine motor tasks
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests
  • ability to interact with guests and employees in courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner
  • ability to read and write effectively including understanding diagrams
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic including percentages
  • ability to understand and execute safety and emergency procedures including fire, crowd control, inclement weather, and bomb threats
  • ability to handle cash and credit transactions
  • ability to utilize basic office equipment
  • ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • ability to adhere to grooming standards
  • ability to exemplify service excellence
  • ability to stand frequently and move throughout the facility
  • ability to carry or lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull approximately 200 pounds
  • ability to frequently handle objects and equipment for facility maintenance
  • ability to frequently bend, stoop, and kneel

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • perform all guest service representative tasks in a superior manner
  • oversee late checkout and stay over requests
  • oversee all room changes
  • oversee showrooms for sales and catering
  • oversee hotel availability in local area
  • ensure all appropriate computer generated reports are completed and communicated timely
  • oversee preparation of VIP arrivals
  • oversee preparation for group arrivals
  • ensure credit check report is completed on every shift
  • oversee airline crew arrival preparation process
  • report and log all guest issues and update guest profiles accordingly
  • ensure all room discrepancies are cleared
  • oversee blocking of special room requests for next day arrivals
  • maintain neat and orderly control desk and area
  • present polished and professional role model image
  • complete job duties on shift checklist timely and alert director of front office if assistance needed
  • perform other duties assigned by Front Office Manager, Director of Operations and General Manager
  • coordinate out of order rooms with housekeeping and engineering
  • ensure posting of all charges
  • inspect associates at beginning of each shift to ensure grooming standards met
  • conduct pre-shift meetings before each shift
  • ensure department schedule is prepared and posted by weekly deadline
  • ensure Travel Pass enrollment weekly and monthly goals are met
  • review Guestware, update Travel Pass member status, prepare welcome letters accordingly
  • ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met
  • monitor ADP, correct missing punches and approve payroll
  • assist in controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all areas of front office
  • participate in preparation of annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
  • learn, understand and apply all union contract expectations to avoid grievances
