Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience in guest services, front desk, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • customer service orientation
  • problem-solving skills
  • ability to perform duties in employees' absence
  • knowledge of credit policies and revenue management
  • ability to analyze information and make decisions
  • compliance with loss prevention policies

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED with 1 year experience in guest services or related area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required
  • strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • knowledge of front office operations
  • understanding of financial and operational goals
  • ability to train and mentor staff

Job Duties

  • lead and assist with the successful completion of daily shift requirements
  • support management of the front desk team by demonstrating interpersonal and communication skills
  • encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • handle employee questions and concerns
  • support daily front desk shift operations
  • manage guest complaints and resolve conflicts
  • participate in department meetings and communicate front desk goals
  • support training of staff on credit policies
  • maximize room revenue through same day selling procedures
  • handle guest problems and complaints
  • participate in employee performance appraisal process
  • provide guidance and direction to subordinates
  • analyze information to choose the best solution
  • ensure compliance with loss prevention policies and procedures
